FAQ's

Minuteman Notary Services faqs photo

Should documents be signed prior to the appointment?

No. Documents must be presented to the notary unsigned.

What is required to have my document notarized?

The Notary Public will require that you provide valid, current, government issued, photo identification. Bring the unsigned document to the Notary Public, sign the document in front of the Notary. Your name must match what is on the document and your ID. All signers named on a document must provide valid identification.

What if I don’t have printer?

No problem. Minuteman Notary Services is equipped with a laser printer that is capable of printing 8 ½ x 11 or 8 ½ X 14 legal sized paper. You may email the document to vhanson@minutemannotaryservices.com and I will print out all pages of the document, including copies if required.

What if I can’t be there in person to sign?

The document signer must be physically present before the notary. An essential element of the notarial act is personal, face-to-face communication between the document signer and the notary. This is necessary for the notary to assess the signer’s comprehension of the transaction and willingness to sign, to help ensure that neither coercion nor fraud are present, and to administer the required verbal ceremony. Physical presence of the signer is so important that notaries who fail to require it can be charged with a crime and punished.

Fees

$35-$175 – fees are determined based on # of pages, # of signers, mileage, parking and whether documents need to be printed out and sent to another location by the notary.
